State of the Kingdom

After watching the State of the Union address I could not help but to think about what would it look like if Christ took an evening to let us know how things looked for the Kingdom of God? Would he too focus on division, but among the body of Christ? Instead of focusing on the elephant or the donkey to put all attention on the lamb. Would he tell us about the miracles that are taking place across the globe, or about those who were far from Christ being raised to new life in him? It’s amazing to know that today there are more Christians in the world than at any other time in history. Despite what we may think or hear the kingdom is growing. Or would he focus on the opposite, and how many people there are in the world who have never heard his name. Although Jesus has been around for eternity, and proclaiming the message of the cross for at least the last 2000 years, more people know about sports stars, rap stars, and coca-cola than they know the Savior of the world.

I don’t know what our Lord would focus on if such a speech were ever made, but I do know one thing with certainty. The State of the Kingdom is never questionable and never shaken. Our God is in control and His kingdom is one that will always stand and it will be victorious over its foes.

So regardless of your political affiliation, make sure that, above being connected to a party, be connected to the Kingdom.
